Every once in a while, we get a post asking if anyone knows what year an engine is from, given the engine number. Well, Kawasaki doesn't give out this information, as it would allow people to figure out their sales figures, which are confidential. However, one can observe and write stuff down. This is an unofficial list put together from experience and physically verified by [https://www.ninja250.org/AP AP].

There’s no guarantee that this list is 100% accurate, but these are pretty solid numbers, obtained by comparing VIN and engine numbers. The engine numbers are sequential, so there is a start and end range. Keep in mind that the engine number only dates the case, since the other parts could have been changed. But this is usually very unlikely.
